Cervical Screening

Primary Care Services North Cumbria launch Cervical Screening information Video to encourage an increase in uptake

Those being invited for cervical screening in North Cumbria are being encouraged to take up the opportunity to attend their appointment with a new explainer video featuring local nurses.

The 3-minute video was created by Primary Care Services North Cumbria in collaboration with North Cumbria GP practice nurses to help highlight the importance of cervical screening, as well as explain the appointment process.

Women's health programme from North East and North Cumbria

The first national plan for women's health, published in 2022, sets out a 10-year ambition to boost the health and wellbeing of all women and girls.

Here in the North East and North Cumbria we are turning our ambition for women's health into action – using the strength, collaboration, and energy we have, to create our own implementation plan and make the changes we want to see now and for future generations.

If we can make things better for girls and women, everyone benefits. Change is already happening from new women's health hubs, better menopause support to improve care for breast pain, fertility, and maternal health. But there is still more we want to do.
