Earlier this month Primary Care Services North Cumbria was pleased to be part of an event bringing teams together from across the system to look at how we can work better for patients at end of life. Lots of connections were made as organisations looked at where improvements can be made.
Primary Care Services North Cumbria were proud to support the event and provide some communications and media support with the production of the videos from the day.
Julie Clayton, Chief Executive at Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw said: "Today is all about bringing people together who care about end of life and palliative care services across North Cumbria so that we can join up more, support each other and most importantly get it right for our patients.
"So we've got people here from right across the system, everyone with an interest in being able to wrap the right care around the patient and around the loved ones that are left behind."
Sam Gargett, Project Manager for Primary Care Services North Cumbria said: "The event was part of the protected learning time in North Cumbria and it was fantastic support the event from both the communications and media point of view, to supporting the planning, registrations and just having a presence at the event.
"There was a variety of round table events with some really interesting discussions and very informative talks. It was great event that I think people took a lot away from."
Dr Kathryn Mannix, author of ‘With The End in Mind’ and ‘Listen’ said:
“What’s so impressive is the massive turnout. It’s wonderful people in north Cumbria really want to make it work. I’ve loved it.”
The team are now planning for next year. If you would like to know more about this work, please contact nicholas.
