Primary Care Teams with NHS Wellbeing Service - North Cumbria were recently in the heart of Wigton with the Made in Melissa bus resource.

Members of the Wigton community chatted with the teams about their health and wellbeing and were offered fitness checks with the Your Health Matters and Community Rehabilitation Teams across at Wigton's CommuniTea Care building.

The teams provided lots valuable advice and support recommending relevant services and resources available. A key topic of conversation was around getting people active and the importance of movement and also offer advice and support following the fitness checks.

The Teams also asked people what they thought was missing in the area that would help - exploring ideas such as exercise groups or other initiatives.

The Wellbeing Team also focused on supporting health and wellbeing goals, as well as offering advice and info on the handy NHS App. This proved to be a really positive community health and wellbeing initiative and the Wigton Mayor Sandra Hodson also stopped by to chat with the teams and support the day.
